PDL Creates Unauthorized Audio Tour
of the Portland Art Museum
On March 13th, PDL set their sights on Portland for a week end of drinking, strip clubs and art appreciation. But this was no ordinary vacation, they went with a mission- to study the permanent collection of the Portland Art Museum, set up a makeshift recording studio in their room at the Jupiter Hotel and complete an unauthorized audio tour in one weekend. So they wrote and recorded and called up friends for additional voice talent. They made field recordings at Union Jacks, spent long days in the museum and long nights in their room, writing, recording, drinking and recovering. It was an amazing time. Mike Katell came along as contributor and sound engineer and the whole project is about to go live. PDL will burn an addition of fifty copies to mail down to Portland art enthusiast and museum employees, and a few weeks later, you can download the tracks on the vital 5 website to take to the museum yourself. Stay tuned.
